Night Picnic in Chapultepec
Looking for something different to do this weekend? For all of 2018, on the second Saturday of every month, the Chapultepec Forest’s Botanical Garden has served as the gathering point for a mass nighttime picnic. This Saturday, December 8th, is the year’s last edition. You can bring your own selection of food and drinks or, better yet, you can buy a picnic basket on location for 300 pesos. It includes a bottle of red wine, LED candles, plastic wine glasses, two ciabatta loaves, two apples, chocolates, and even a tablecloth.

See Roma at Los Pinos
Since Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador took office on December 1st, the former presidential home, Los Pinos, has been converted into a cultural center open to the public. On December 13th, the new award-winning film Roma by Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón will be screened in the Presidential Heliport Garden for a maximum of 3,000 people. The showing at Los Pinos represents a unique opportunity to see a new addition to Mexican culture in a historically significant setting. First-come, first-served. Roma will be officially released on Netflix on December 14th.

Luzia by Cirque du Soleil
Cirque du Soleil has arrived in Mexico! Through costumes, music, and acrobatics, Luzia explores themes linked to the identity, history, and mythology of Mexico. At different points of the show, the artists illustrate the country’s fascination with the animal kingdom and connection with nature, the majestic landscapes, and the speed of the Tarahumara community. It is the ideal event for the entire family!

Carlos Mérida exhibit at MUNAL
The MUNAL is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Carlos Mérida’s arrival to Mexico with a beautiful exhibit accompanied by fragments of his unpublished autobiography. It is a tour of 290 pieces created by the artist, including oil paintings, silkscreen, drawings, sketches, photos, and publications from all stages of his life. The exhibit is a colorful and geometric portrait of an artist who became Mexican by choice.

Madame Clicquot pop-up bar at the St. Regis Mexico
After a successful event for Día de los Muertos, the Madame Clicquot pop-up bar is returning to the lower floor of the St. Regis Mexico just in time for the holiday season. As you may have guessed from its name, the happening will feature a space entirely inspired by Veuve Clicquot champagne. Enjoy bubbly cocktails among friends while snacking on dishes prepared by chef David Izquierdo.
