All-Inclusive Beach Hotels in Mexico You Have to Visit
Perfect hotels for when you don’t want to worry about a thing during your entire trip.
POR: Brenda Béjar
Sometimes you want to get involved with every detail of your trip’s itinerary: where are you going to sleep, what are you going to eat, what you have to see. Other times, you don’t want to research anything but instead, arrive having everything resolved. For those trips, we have selected a handful of all-inclusive beach hotels in Mexico that provide true luxuries.
Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit
This hotel is the best proof that all-inclusive resorts and luxury can go hand-in-hand. Gran Velas has been crowned as the undisputed queen of family vacations. After only a few steps, you will quickly notice that every detail is taken care of and that you no longer have to worry about anything (except for choosing your dream pillow from the menu).
So, what does a normal day look like? While the children enjoy their designated areas and activities, you can take a Pilates class or kayak in the Pacific Ocean. For the remainder of the morning, take advantage of the beautiful infinity pool surrounded by the sweet aroma of bougainvillea and finish up the day with an all-natural treatment in the hotel’s award-winning spa. At night, it will not be easy to choose between the different gastronomic gourmet offerings: Asian, French, Mexican, or Mediterranean.
What do we love?
Even though these types of hotels make you want to stay on the property, Grand Velas offers a series of experiences that encourage you to discover the local atmosphere. One of our favorites is the tour that runs along the beaches of the Riviera Nayarit, such as Sayulita, San Pancho, La Cruz (as well as a cocoa factory).

Hyatt Ziva, Cancun
Located on an extension of land that, seen from a map, looks like a small island next to the city, this resort has the best of two worlds: on one side, the infiniteness of the turquoise sea; on the other, all of Cancun’s attractions only a few minutes away.
Hyatt Ziva is a great example of how all-inclusive hotels have evolved, especially in terms of their food and beverages. Among so many restaurant options, the most natural (and wisest) choice is to try a different one every day. We recommend the American-style dining room, teppanyaki grill, and French brasserie.
In addition to the food, we also want to give an honorable mention to the pools. They are truly spectacular, especially the multilevel one at the center of the resort and the rooftop pool with ocean views.
What do we love?
The hotel has its own microbrewery where you can—in addition to experiencing specialized tastings and conversing with the brewing master—take classes to learn how to prepare artisanal beer.

Live Aqua Boutique Resort, Playa del Carmen
If your ideal vacation does not include children splashing around in their colorful unicorn inflatables, then this all-inclusive, “chic adults only” hotel is an excellent choice for you.
Located on Fifth Avenue, a pedestrian street and the most important commercial artery of Playa del Carmen, this small boutique hotel has the advantage that you can enjoy its facilities—with a pleasant contemporary design—and also immerse yourself in the local scene.
In the mornings, ask to borrow a bicycle to ride along the beach and explore the area. Then, return to eat at one of the hotel’s international restaurants and watch the sunset at the rooftop pool. The rest of the night awaits you outside.
What do we love?
In case you want to get away from the property, rates usually include special prices at certain beach clubs, such as Mamitas or Kool.
